Serving God With Prayer and Fasting

Do you only serve God for earthly rewards? Will you continue to serve God even in the face of adversity?
In Luke 2:37, Anna, a widow of 84 years, exemplifies unwavering devotion and service to God.
After the loss of her husband, the Bible says, “she did not depart from the temple but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.”
Despite losing her husband after only seven years of marriage, Anna remained faithful, continuously residing in the temple, and serving God.
This demonstrated her steadfast commitment, discipline, and resilience in the face of personal loss.
Anna’s deep devotion extended beyond mere rituals; it reflected a proactive pursuit of God, marked by intentional spiritual disciplines.
Despite losing her husband after only seven years of marriage, Anna remained faithful, continuously residing in the temple, and serving God. Share on XAnna’s reward for her faithfulness was profound. Recognizing the infant Jesus as the Redeemer, she actively participated in God’s redemptive plan.
Her encounter with Jesus fueled gratitude, and she became a messenger, sharing the news of the Messiah’s arrival with those anticipating redemption in Jerusalem.
Prayers and fastings born out of a desire for a relationship with God are always rewarding and have eternal value.
Keep praying…keep fasting…keep serving!!!

Topic: Faithful to the End
Life is an individual race.
We may all be running, but we run individually Ecclesiastes 9:11
Our race courses may be similar, but it is an individual race
The life of a Christian is described as:
A Fight:
– Who are we fighting?
– What are we fighting?
– Why are we fighting?
– Where are we fighting?
– When are we fighting?
A Race:
– The christian life is a race!
– Hebrews 12:1-2
– Be properly dressed to run the race
– Look unto Jesus
A Defender:
– He kept the faith against falsehood
– It is good to start a thing, but better to finish it.
– Faithfulness is a vital tool in our service to God.
– 1 Corinthians 4:2
– 2 Timothy 4:8
His Reward System:
– Matthew 25 (Parable of the Talent)
– He rewards faithfulness
– It is just as bad to do nothing with what you are blessed with, as it is to do evil with what you are blessed with
In God’s reward system:
– Everyone is blessed by God
– Everyone can multiply his/her blessing into abundance.
– The blessing of God in your life is the reference point.
– God does not reward you for what He gave you; what He rewards is the proportion of increase on what He has given you.
– God does not waste resources.
Quality is Serving God with your:
– Substance: God wants our money (Joshua 24:24)
– Situation: In everything give thanks (1 Thes 5:18)
– Sacrifice: Serve God in season and out of season (2 Tim 4:2)
– Strength: Mark 12:30
– Skill: Exodus 35:31-35
Be Faithful till The End!!!
